New food culture project
« on: June 01, 2009, 08:13:17 PM »
I will be breeding Tilapia Mossambicus in the very near future.
They are very hardy and super prolific. Even moreso than Mollies.
They have hundreds of babies a month. I currently have 15 so hopefully this turns out to be a great food source for my rays.

Good Idea!  Fresh food is going to have the highest amount of nutrition.  Also, being a freshwater fish, it will be more digestible and healthier for them.

You could fillet the tilapia right out of the water and drop it into the ray tank.. also harvesting the eggs from females would be an interesting meal.. I also wonder what kind of internal organs rays would eat and/or would be beneficial to them?!

Keep up the good work!  Maybe Nic will chime in ;)

I have also got a massive Marble Crayfish project under way as well.
We will see how it goes.
