 I drove down to calgary to pick up two motoros. one male one female. They are in a 125 until the glass gets here for my big tank in the middle of may.

thanks. i put them in the tank about 6 hours ago. They seem to love swimming over the bubbles. I put some shrimp in and they are eating like pigs. They have nice fat tails. They have been together sence they were pups. In there old tank and this one, they always swim together, are on top of each other, if one swims to the other side the other ray fallows. He said they are starting to pair off. They were in a tank with 4 other rays.

I hope in my 425 they might breed for me.


I paid $150 each. pet stores have them that size for around $500 each.

very nice, they look like they are happy.
I have one suggestion though. You might want to get rid of some of the sand, if you have more then half inch to an inch, left over food and stingray poo get set under the sand and you can have health and water issues

thanks, I am aware of that. They rays are only in the 125 gallon for about a month then they are going to the 425. I thought there is no point in switching out the substrate for a month. I will have half a inch of sand in my big tank.

Looks like you got yourself some fat motoros.. they look really healthy for being wild-caught.  Definitely not skinny.  I bet they are good eaters for ya!
