good idea?
« on: April 16, 2009, 03:38:18 PM »
I am going to have two, maybe three 300 watt heaters in my 425 gallon tank. Should I keep the heaters in the sump so there is no chanse of the rays getting burnet?

Yes that is your safest bet.

Yeah, definitely keep the heaters in your sump.  I use one 250w heater for my 375g.. but its 1" acrylic and I keep the room pretty warm...

Lots to figure in on heating a big tank like that.. such as, does it sit on a cement floor?  Insulated at all?

Good Luck!

If you can, always keep your heaters out of the tank with the rays.  Sump is the perfect place. :)

A little more unrealistic method is to keep outside of the tank/pond the temp you want the water and regulate with a thermostat lol
