help!
« on: April 24, 2009, 09:41:36 PM »
I just want to know, does anyone know a very cheap and efficient way to feed lots of stingrays?  I have 17 of them and they are eating us out of house and home, haha.

Buying in bulk seems to be the way to go. Blackworms, Grass shrimp, whatever you can find for a decent price. Just have to know the right people.

bulk seafoods!

breed your own cultures... (blackworms, nightcrawlers)...

Buy directly from the source!

Amen to bulk seafood! I read somewhere that marine fish aren't good for rays. I feed it anyway.
Can someone shed some light on a seafood diet?

It is cheap but it can't be healthy in the long run.

So how often would you feed shrimp? What do you feed as a staple?

Myself, no...

I would only feed salt water shrimp once in a blue moon.
I feel like it is too fatty for them.

I keep my rays on a steady Diet of blackworms, earthworms, gut-loaded ghost shrimp and soon baby convict cichlids.
I am trying to replicate what they eat naturally. I also have a new breeding project of a different type of "feeder" for them that I will be divulging very soon.

i was buying fresh water market shrimp on wholesale.... used to split a order with a friend... now he is sustained on foods with our project... you need to find a whole sale company ( restaurant supply) and try to get them to sell to you... i know a guy up here but you would have to drive up here...

I agree there is some contraversy about the Seafoods and overfeeding them to the rays...  Perhaps another thread is in order for this discussion? :D

I second that. Should make for an interesting debate.
